This year we were proud to partner with the American Heart Association as they hosted the 2020 Greater Akron Heart Walk. The event, held on August 29th, was reimagined into a virtual format due to COVID-19. Each participant was able to experience the event from where they live!   

We’d like to thank our partners at SBN and shark & minnow for their generous contribution to this important cause. 

In addition to raising vital funds for heart disease and stroke research and education, the American Heart Association recognized the need to support those affected by COVID-19. This year, they have:

• Established a $2.5 million rapid research fund to fast-track scientific research to better understand COVID-19 and its interaction with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases 
• Helped to accelerate antiviral drugs to combat COVID-19
• Taught hospitals and communities how to safely and effectively administer CPR during the coronavirus pandemic
